I have spent most of my life involved in science or engineering, with about eight years as a student of physics and chemistry at several colleges.
Since retirement from aerospace over a decade ago, my interests have been mostly about ways to save energy or improve the environment. My Beetle TDI car and I have earned some praise for getting higher-than-usual fuel economy—65 miles per gallon is the norm when we are traveling in the Western States.
My current goal is the design and construction of a new, more efficient internal combustion engine. To get even better mileage, of course.
